MAN DIES IN SOLO MOTORCYCLE COLLISION

 

On May 23, 2022, at 1:20 a.m. the Escondido Police Department received a report of domestic violence in the 300 block of West Vermont Avenue. The caller had advised the possible suspect in the domestic violence was on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. As officers were responding, they saw a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle northbound on Escondido Boulevard, turning east onto Felicita Avenue. Officers made a U-turn to stop the motorcycle, but the rider had accelerated rapidly and was already out of sight.

 

The motorcyclist had continued east on Felicita Avenue, which becomes 17th Avenue east of Juniper Street. Upon reaching a significant curve in the road near Encino Drive, the motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a fence and streetlight. The motorcyclist, a 44-year-old man, was pronounced deceased by Escondido Fire Paramedics at the scene.

 

This collision is being investigated by Traffic Investigator Tyler Herrmann. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident is encouraged to call Officer Herrmann at 760-839-4911.

UN HOMBRE MUERE EN UN ACCIDENTE DE MOTOCICLETA

 

El 23 de mayo de 2022, a la 1:20 a.m. el Departamento de Policía de Escondido recibió un informe de violencia doméstica en la cuadra 300 de West Vermont Avenue. La persona que llamó había informado que el posible sospechoso de violencia doméstica estaba en una motocicleta Harley Davidson. Mientras los oficiales respondían, vieron una motocicleta Harley Davidson de 2015 en dirección norte en Escondido Boulevard, girando hacia el este en Felicita Avenue. Los oficiales hicieron la vuelta en U para detener la motocicleta, pero el conductor había acelerado rápidamente y no estaba a la vista.

El motociclista había continuado hacia el este por Felicita Avenue, que se convierte en 17th Avenue al este de Juniper Street. Al llegar a una curva significante en la carretera cerca de Encino Drive, el motociclista perdió el control de la motocicleta y chocó con una valla y un poste de luz. El motociclista, un hombre de 44 años, fue declarado muerto por los paramédicos de Bomberos de Escondido en la escena.
