FATAL COLLISION INVOLVING MOTORCYCLE
On January 20, 2022, at 7:07 p.m., the Escondido Police Department received a report of a motorcycle crash on West Valley Parkway near 9th Avenue. Callers had reported a motorcycle rider down in the roadway with CPR in progress. Sadly, the motorcyclist died at the scene.
Investigators determined the motorcycle had been traveling at a high rate of speed west on Valley Parkway and had just crossed 9th Avenue, when the rider lost control and collided with a streetlight and utility box on the west side of the street. There were no other vehicles involved in the crash and the motorcyclist has not yet been identified.
This crash is under investigation by Officer Paul Smyth of the Escondido Police Department Traffic Division. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is encouraged to contact Officer Smyth at 760-839-4423.

COLISIÓN FATAL DE MOTOCICLETA
El 20 de enero de 2022, a las 7:07 p.m., el Departamento de Policía de Escondido recibió el informe de un accidente de motocicleta en West Valley Parkway cerca de 9th Avenue. Las personas que llamaron informaron que un motociclista estaba en la carretera con RCP en curso. Lamentablemente, el motociclista falleció en el lugar.
Los investigadores determinaron que la motocicleta viajaba a gran velocidad hacia el oeste por Valley Parkway y acababa de cruzar la 9th Avenue, cuando el conductor perdió el control y chocó con una farola y una caja de servicios públicos en el lado oeste de la calle. No hubo otros vehículos involucrados en el accidente y el motociclista aún no ha sido identificado.
Este accidente está siendo investigado por el oficial Paul Smyth de la División de Tráfico del Departamento de Policía de Escondido. Se recomienda a cualquier persona que haya presenciado el accidente que se comunique con el oficial Smyth al 760-839-4423.
